Upliftment through Education
Heading Vision Image

Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA) and Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) have on a number of occasions advocated the Upliftment of Mumineen. This inspirational outlook has created a large number of programs for self-employment, housing, education, etc. through which Mumineen can benefit for their economic and social upliftment.

Under the vision of Aqa Maula (TUS), Shazada Saheb (DM) initiated a program of Education for the Upliftment of Mumineen of Karachi in 2006.

The basic objective of this program, expected to last a minimum period of 10 years, is to ensure QUALITY EDUCATION of all school going Mumineen Children of ages 3-16 years.

Mumineen, all over the world, proudly boast of a 100 percent literacy rate of our community. Yet this statistic is vastly an over simplistic one. Though Mumineen, even those who belong to the relatively poorer segments of the society, are conscious of providing some education to their children, economic circumstances often undermines the quality of education that they are able to provide. Equally true for low income families is that the lack of quality education in one generation creates a social outlook that does not place a suitable emphasis on the quality of education of the next. A vicious circle is thereby created.

A large number of students end up going to sub-standard schools. These schools are based in small 600 to 1000 sq ft apartments with hardly any breeze and sunlight. It would be appropriate to call them pigeon-hole schools. Mumineen send their children to these schools only because their fees are about 30% of a good quality standard school.

Economic Upliftment thus becomes very difficult to achieve with this so-called 'paper education' whereby children go through a period of mandatory schooling, but end up learning next to nothing. It is imperative that all children be moved from sub standard to quality schools. This program was started to improve the quality of education of all school going children, which in turn will have a long term economic and social impact on the upliftment of the families that these children belong to.
